Swing Arm Slab Saw
In a swing arm type of saw, the blade is mounted on a heavy swinging arm and moves vertically under gravity down through the rock. The rock remains stationary while a cut is being.
| |   You easily adjust the cutting speed by setting a needle valve that controls the flow of fluid from a hydraulic cylinder that supports the arm. A glass "sight gauge" enables you to judge this rate of flow. The arm is raised for the next cut by an electric pump that forces the hydraulic fluid back into the cylinder. Apart from this smooth, simple feed system that does not need the usual sliding (or rolling) carriage, this type of saw has the advantage of using only one-half to two-thirds as much floor space, as they are shorter in the front to rear dimension. |

Galaxy slab saws are manufactured of top quality steel, cast iron & aluminum parts at the MK Diamond/Barranca Diamond Products plant in Torrence, CA. The carriage rock vise employs a self-feed clutch engagement system powered by a continuous duty drip proof thermal protected electric motor. The motor powers a screw drive system with automatic shutoff. Large capacity oil/sludge reservoir uses a splash-style lubrication, flushing & cooling system. Warranty is one year against defects..SS24 and SS30 have a 3 gallon reservoir! SS14 and SS18 do not come with wheels.

This precision-built slab/trim saw has a clutch activated automatic feed control for slabbing which can be used in conjunction with a cross-feed indexing vise
Each complete turn of the cross feed handle moves the vise 1/16", with a maximum of over 2" of cross feed travel
